Mother is an all-timer, but otherwise ye kinda agreed

film versions of most of these songs are about 10x better, plus they cut the best song (What Shall We Do Now?) off the album which was a laughable choice

This was like the lest embarrassing rock album of the eighties. Yall don't understand the musical hell of that decade.

in my opinion every moment of this album, even the "flaws" come at the perfect time to push the concept of the building a barrier between you and the real world. any changes made to the album would diminish its quality, except maybe some of the songs from the movie.

the movie makes this album go from a 5 to a 6 lol

So apparently, wikipedia just discovered a new genre, "Progressive pop" which is progressive rock but with the appealing of pop, and that's how this album is described. Weird.

But If I had to justify genesis's duke with a label it would sure be that, the album is not completely pop but neither progressive, except the duke suite.

And to this day I refuse to admit that misunderstanding is a pop song.

prog pop has always existed. Have you listened to Kate Bush or Supertramp?

Prog pop and art rock aren't the same, though I have to admit it's pretty difficult to tell them apart

Ah yeah right Genesis, Queen or even the second half of Abbey Road could fit that label
