i completely agree and it's definitly not a bad thing that they've evolved so much. Their music is so diverse its difficult to put a tag on all of it, but that's what makes it so great. Any chilis fan has their favourite song which is most likely completel different to the next. From this is the place to i could have lied, by the way, to funky monks thats what makes the chilis so amazing, they can play any style virtually and still produce amazing albums.

^Yeah, the peppers have produced many increadible albums with many different styles on them, from the high energy funk on their debut album to the mature outlook and social commentary of Californication. For a band to enjoy continued success they have to evolve and change with the times but at the same time keep some elements that made them in the first place.

Before I bought this album I had only heard the singles and wasn't mad about Frusciantes funk fused rock. I checked out the chili peppers profile on the site and noticed that this was their highest rated album, so I picked it up and was a bit freaked out by the different sounds I was hearing, after a few listens I was in love with "da Funk" and have since gotten all of their funky albums.
5 stars all the way for this one.
