Nah, don't tell him that. I very much enjoy this one, but MA as a whole have never tickled my fancy like many of the other 'classic' DM bands. There seems to be a section of OSDM fanatics that like basically everything the genre has to offer (providing the song-writing is solid), whereas DM has enough variety that it shouldn't be dismissed based on a few less than fulfilling encounters.

I see that Mort has already checked some other stuff, so perhaps he isn't deterred - just thought it was worth pointing out.

Agree with Demon. I def wouldn't write off osdm just from a few bands, let alone one album. There's far too much variation between bands to write it off so quickly.



Honestly I never thought of this as highly as most people seem to either. I mean I love it, but there's so much stuff I like more. This doesn't even crack my top 25 -- nor does Covenant, which I like a lot more than this.

when it comes to OSDM, I'm about 85-90% favorable. There's not a ton I don't like, but there are a few bands that don't quite click for me as well as they do for others
