Best moment on here is Lucky's finale imo. The way it builds up and explodes into that ocean of sound with that wailing guitar on top of it all ... that's how you create moments for the ages.
The part at the end of Exit Music admittedly comes close.

I also remember thinking during my first spin ‘fuck me, they’ve really pulled something off with this, it’s unbelievably amazing’ then it closed on The Toursit and it was a case of just being sat there in me bedroom stunned.
I absolutely fucking loved it. lol, bless me.

Lucky is ever so slightly overrated imo, amazing song but my least or second least favorite here. Tbh though that fact just further underscores why this is one of the best ever.

It's one of those songs that seem to be written to work in the album's context first and foremost, but on that place it's amazing. Maybe Exit Music is the better stand-alone song though, I'm not sure.

Lucky is definitely one of the best here.
Climbing Up The Walls gets far too much praise.

I loved no surprises too the twinkly-ness contrasting the sadness in the lyricism is beautiful and yet heart-wrenching. It just really makes it a special track.

Climbing Up the Walls is one of more than a handful of moments on here where they transcend the "rock band format" while still playing in it
Fuckin' astounding

Yeah, Climbing Up the Walls pretty much single-handedly destroys the notion some people have that this is "just an alt-rock album".

"Exit Music and Let Down are what bring this to a level above all else." [2]
"Let Down" is absolutely one of the best songs ever written. And The Tourist doesn't get mentioned enough. Hands down one of the best closers to an album ever.

The 10-15 seconds at the end of the bridge section leading into the final chorus of Let Down give me chills every damn time. Pure eargasm.

The moment that does it for me is when the guitar twinkles in the background as Thom sings, "You know, you know where you are with."

Nah paranoid is a masterpiece and carries the album so hard in elevating it's status as their defining work or w.e

It's structurally interesting, but melodically and musically the worst song on the album.
