Oh, don't think I was being defensive, any feedback is good feedback for me :p But yeah, comparisons to Opeth are inevitable with this band even though they are quite different and that is what I was trying to point out

Yeh, me too, I think Opeth are overrated, and I think these guys are miles better, but that's all my opinion, so I'd rather not create too much controversy in the review.

I like this but not Opeth...

If this is miles better than Opeth I need it.
But this is coming from an Opeth fanboy, if I find anything better than Still Life or Blackwater Park I'll probably shit myself.

Your a good man Crimson, except for comments like this:
Yeh, me too, I think Opeth are overrated
Now I'm getting defensive hahaha jk!
Thanks for the clarification. No more fog brain when I read reviews!
This album is better than the Opeth I listen to. Shorter-than-Opeth songs + a maintenance of aggression = awesome.
I can certainly see why people wouldn't like Opeth on the fact that their songs are too long. Maintenance of agression? I'm lost. If your implying Opeth has inconsistency with their agression, than your missing the point of Opeth. If not, clarify please.

Being overated doesn't necessarily mean they are bad, just so everyone knows :p
He doesn't mean anything to do with Opeth with the aggression comment, he's just saying he likes how the band stays so aggressive throughout. This Message Edited On 02.24.08

Opeth can't overrated because they are just that good hahahahahaha! (Fanboyism happening right now)
Aw I see now. Thank you for clarifying for him. For the record though, Opeth's dynamic use of hard/ soft is what makes that band so much better than everyone else IMO.

Stylistically similar to Opeth, but more aggressive with shorter songs? Whoo YEAH, checking this out right this instant lol.
Once again, excellent review Crimson, you really make people wanna check this stuff out, which is only a good thing.

Heh, that's isn't one of my favourites, still great though, I love the rumbling bass opening on 'By Others Considered'
Just a quick note for all those confused, the fifth track is Grind Denial, not grand. This Message Edited On 02.26.08

Lol, not "GRIND" damn, lol, i knew that looked a little wierd. I really like the ending to "by Other Cosidered" almost like Opeth's "Damnation"

This album rocks hard, and from one listen I'm already getting what Crimson was saying, it was enjoyable, but I feel like I missed a LOT somehow, even though I was paying close attention. The last two tracks are just bananas
