Ewww a bump for arguably my favorite album of all time...

If they put Temet Nosce as the last track and cut the length in half this would be a 5.0. Just feel that dragging that song for so long takes away from Monument, and just can’t see that it has enough to justify the monster 15 minutes. Red in Tooth and Claw may be my favourite Rosetta song. That’s how you kick off an album.

They had to give you a break before Monument. I do agree though, I would like Temet shortened ideally.

Fun fact : Monument’s outro has 6 guitar tracks layered on top of each other , the reason they said they would never play it live. Until recently.

The first three Rosetta albums is arguably as good of an album run as any within the post-metal scene.

Sides A and C of the vinyl trap the stylus so it doesn’t reset and the repetition it creates at the end of Lift 2 and Temet Nosce sounds like the endless fucking ether of dead space.

Yep I noticed that one day while I was waiting for it to finish.
Endless loop.

This album rules but it badly needs a remaster.

My one little quibble with this masterpiece for sure Observer. BJ gets buried in the wall of sound here and there.

Just here for the optics.

Yeah he does, I guess a bit too much shoegaze? Wasn't an issue on Galilean Satellites.

BJ is literally in the top-3 most entertaining live drummers I've ever seen. So spastic.

Frankly I love the production on this, though a remaster could sound interesting.

Post metal could use more lively drummers like BJ. Nick Yacyshyn is crazy good too

Yep. Goes hard.

Homey from Russian Circles (post metal-friendly at least) is a beast, too.

Temet Nosce is lovely. Reminds me of a metal version of Saint by Jakob.
