This is one of those albums that I love but totally understand why someone would hate.

First half of this album fucks. Second half is painful. Soothsayer is pretty cool though. Basically side C of the record can be skipped.

There is no universe where "Askepios", "Ouroborous" are C sides.

This was an album that absolutely blew open drumming for me. Had no concept that drums could go as crazy as Pridgen is going on the Wax Simulacra before I heard it as a teen. Jon Theodore was their most musical drummer, though.

It was the same for me Million. Pridgen has an absolutely legendary performance on this. It's actually kind of wild that he's not on more prog projects.

"There is no universe where "Askepios", "Ouroborous" are C sides." haha no they are quite literally on side C of the record. First side of the second disk. That said, they are still skips 90% of the time for me.

Fuck, I shouldn't read shit when I'm tired and hungover. The grooves on both those songs are insane.

"if the s/t couldn't out-toilet this, I doubt the new one can"
both have admirably succeeded in out-pooing this, but the new one is closer to those porcelain rims, while the s/t was flushed without a second thought
they're getting marginally closer, but it's still stinky
