^ As much as I enjoy the album, I do kinda agree with that. Hell, I'd almost argue Winds of Plague were a more influential band from that era, when you consider the success and popularity of modern symph-deathcore groups like Lorna Shore and Shadow of Intent

and Make them Suffer, Ovid's Withering, She Must Burn and Assemble the Chariots too

what's funny is each of these bands did symphonic deathcore way, way better than winds of plague did though, which calls into question whether they were an influence in the first place. Influenced bands tend to be worse versions of the bands they take after, so I think this is probably just people wanting to do symphonic deathcore independently

In terms of influence, I would say The Price of Existence might be the most influential deathcore album from the "classic" era

If you look at the European deathcore scene, whatever band you choose, they'll always sound like Antagony or by extension As Blood Runs Black, but with pig squeals. So they were most likely influenced both by Antagony and Despised Icon.

Few bands from Europe from that scene are known, but I'm talking about stuff like The Juliet Massacre or Medea Rising. Check the stuff out and you'll know what I mean

Medea Rising sounds like a Tyler Perry movie
