First, whether or not Avril is hot should not matter. I don't listen to the Yeah Yeah Yeah's cause the singer looks cute (note: not really) or Hot Hot Heat 'cause I have some crush on them again (note: again, NO). Go watch some porn.

Does she write her own lyrics? I'm strongly under the impression she doesn't. Simply told, that makes her a pop musician. Punk is DIY production, leftist views, and being underdogs. Nothing about being on a label is underdog. Hence: Nirvana, Green Day, Blink 182 are all not punk bands (though still good music, save Blink 182 IMO). Also, being a skater is not punk. I know plenty of skaters that don't listent to punk, and plenty of punks that don't skate.

Is she a sell-out? Nah, she never traded in on her values for money. I really think this is what she wanted. Want a sell-out? Aerosmith. They're first number one single (from Armageddon; but not their first hit) whas written by someone else, and now other people write all their songs for them so that they can make more money than ever before.

Simply put, the review is dead on. The material was treated fairly and judged on her own merit. Though she is singing the lyrics because she was told to, not because she wrote them. And this thread belongs to whoever chooses to have an active interest in music, not exclusively fans (for whatever reason they are on MXTABS). Don't try to be some elitist conformist without regard to outside opinion.
