That said, If I hear Hey Ya, one more time, I'll go on a Baby Punching Tangeon.

I can still totally dig it, surprisingly.

For me, Speakerboxx is nice, The Love Below is superb. You only need to look at Outkast to know the music world is still as strong as it ever was.

Both Big Boi and Andres efforts appeal to me some how.

Good review. I'm not sure I would rate it this highly, either, but I do really like both records, mostly because they show how much creative freedom Kast feel they have.

Both are great records, but Speakerboxxx smacks the fuck out of The Love Below.

Apart from the skits/interludes etc., Speakerboxxx is nothing like an average rap album. There is great display of eclectic live instrumentation which I find works great with Big Boi's equally vibrant flow. There are also some excellent beats throughout the album, strong guest vocals, and in general the album has a more cohesive feel. The album also has a great "Dirty South" feel without sounding to self-patronizing.
The Love Below is great, but its hampered by its attempts to be diverse and "out of this world". In some places I find that Andre tries too hard to be different and in some places the results feel half-baked.

I love both albums, but The Love Below just strikes more of a chord with me. Speakerboxx is a great rap album, don't get me wrong, but Dre's so much more creative, that there' really no comparison for me.

SpeakerBoxx is more upbeat, while The Love Below seems calmer and has more bass. I used to listen to this daily, when I had my old system in my car. But when I got rid of that, I no longer had use for this album and gave it away. But I left off at Speakerboxx < The Love Below

I love Outkast and almost all of their albums, but if you want to hear real hip hop listen to the roots or jurassic 5

Big Boi is a good rapper, but he sounds bored here.
