what do you consider boring about it cuz I could see Suffer In Truth being a boring track with the

A LOT of it is literally two notes, going back and forth/up and down, just in "cool" patterns and rhythms. I see through that shit. All they are doing for most of this album is raping the bottom string in as many complex patterns as they can and as fast as they can. And yeah it might be cool for a little bit, but they do it for so much of the album it just gets boring so quickly. Where are the scales, the melodies, the interesting chord progressions...it's ALL just fucking two note thrashing. Only the first three songs are well designed, and they actually make this thing good enough to get a 3.5.

the band is meant to be repetitive
they are meant to be rhythmic
that's like, the whole idea behind their music

if you're listening for "the scales, the melodies, the interesting chord progressions" then why are you listening to meshuggah when that's not what they're about?

I love their most recent three LPs. So it's not about the band, but specific albums.



But yeah basically, when I go on my daily walk to the library and I put on something like Nothing or this album, I just feel like background brainless metal is playing in my head and I'm not really enjoying life. Then I put on something else and I enjoy my walk much more.

and the album is definitely not thrash

if you maybe had heard some fucking thrash in your life other than ride the lightning you'd know
