I didn't think the guitar-work was all that technical, honestly.

some of the parts on this album are kinda cheesy, like when it modulates to a major key in "in the nervous light". that part feels rather out of place and...well i can't think of a better word than cheesy to describe it.

City Of Evil was Universe shattering. The emotion is so evident when Matt's voice breaks.

This is a really good album, but I'm not sure how into it I am yet. Some of it is really inaccessible, but I will say the climax in Same Shade as Concrete is more universe shattering than even, dare I say, City of Evil.

The breakdown of Crow Quill is universe imploding dare I say it.

I have a feeling I only heard what I wanted in that statement. But, yeah great review/album.This Message Edited On 11.08.07

this is one terrific review

It always seem like CTTS's lyrics seem extremely pretentious and stupid when read, yet are completely honest and moving when placed in context.

The only thing that could make this album better would be a few more songs from their self-titled or demo or whatever you want to call it

*yawn* oh good morning Sputnik.

When I was reading this, I imagined crazy intergalactic fights in space which speaks volumes for the imagery.

You know....I can't shake the feeling that I've seen the phrase "elegantly crafted" used in a review before....

If this is your starting point and you want to get into more take a look at bands like Pg.99, City Of Caterpillar, Orchid, Funeral Diner and Off Minor, they're the usual repertoire. Sed Non Satiata and Daitro have a more airy sound but check them out too.
