I'm not a big jazz fan at all but this album made me appreciate jazz music and it's improvisations. It's definitely worth getting if you've never heard of Miles Davis.

If this album seriously moves somebody, its highly suggested you really delve into Miles' work as a whole, and use Kind of Blue as the starter. To tell the truth, Kind is actually one of my least favorites but yet its still so grand. Miles is unbelievable.

it's great jazz, but I like his later fusion stuff much more tbh.

if you don't have them already you really need to give Bitches Brew and A Tribute to Jack Johnson a few listens. they eat this one for breakfast.

Bitches Brew is amazing but I prefer this. Not heard A Tribute to Jack Johnson but I'll be sure to get it, as everything I've heard by Davis is great. Need Sketches of Spain too.

username345, looking at your album ratings and favorites, I say go for Dark Magus. I wrote a review on here for it. It was on Q's 50 Heaviest albums of all time, so that should tell you something. Youde also dig Jack Johnson since thats the closest thing to straight-up rock that Miles ever did. As well as the Black Beauty album during the Bitches Brew era. I guarantee you youll like Dark Magus, though.

The beauty part is is that not many people have heard of it. It was a Japan-only import for a very long time, and I think in 2000 it was finally released in the States (26 years!). I mean when I wrote the review, I had to create an album page for it and everything. So yeah its definitely an obscure one, but it kicks major ass. If I were you Id download the sucker right now since Its damn near impossible to find in stores sadly.

Amazing review. Im new to this genre and this seems like a good place to start, being the highest rated album on sputnik.
