accurately deriving from a 6/8 clave to another complicated structure of beats.
I don't remember Martin Lopez playing any 6/8 parts on this... hmmm.
The album's amazing though, and the song 'Hope Leaves' alone is worth getting this.

Thank you wizard, but for Opeth haters, I don't think there are any, except the people who think theyre boring. And even then, I don't think they find them boring to such a degree that they 'hate' them.

Ive seen a few Opeth haters around here! But its for the reasons you stated above. Plus, Opeth haters usually get chewed up pretty quickly anyways. Cheers to Opeth, greatest metal band of all time!

Nice review actually. I've always wanted to hear an Opeth album that was predominantly acoustic and mellow and now i have. So glad that i did!

This album definitely, Still Life, and try out Morningrise for their older sound.

I wouldn't have started out with Blackwater Park. Mabey My Arms, Your Hearse or, like Thor said, Morningrise.

At 3:40... Sounds like 4/4, but now i remember... The bridge at 4:36 is 6/8. How could I forget that great part?!

I know this isn't a drummer forum but it has to be said.
At Wikipedia under Martin Lopez it says that it is one of his most used beats, so it can only be the one where he is syncopating the bass drum and the ride bell with some snare ghost notes.
Check out the outro (after guitar solo) to Master's Apprentices, i think that's 6/8 clave (and i don't think he is playing that one on Damnation = so you have a factual error ;P)

nice review, I thought this album was beautiful, I wish it had more than eight songs, since none of the songs were long:/

I need to listen to this again, really. It never hit me as much as BwP did, which as a non-metalhead I found quite impressive.
