From what I've heard I like it a lot and I don't normally dig punk

I really don't understand. These guys are hardcore, or as the kids say nowadays, "post-hardcore", which is really just the term given to newer hardcore bands to make sure they aren't lumped in with MTVmo garbage. They crank out heavy guitar work, and it's to be expected. I don't see this surprising anyone.

Good one.

Jeez, this is SO sick. I totally agree with the TETA reference. This is pretty damn good music.

Still love this album. New one at the end of this year/beginning of next year. The basswork in the chorus of Die While We're Young is awesome.

After the first paragraph, I find myself mentally exhausted trying to figure out what the **** you're talking about. SoCal punk? NOFX? What? You do know AWS are from Massachusetts right? And that they don't sound anything like the bands you claimed they have risen above of?

I don't want to belittle you or anything, but I could not stay silent on this matter. A Wilhelm Scream need comparisons to NOFX as much as they need a hot shovel.

I can't believe I didn't catch this, but you're a giant f*cktard and you need some perspective and an age that doesn't match your shoe size. If you can't see the blatantly f*cking obvious nods to SoCal 90's punk rock you're a toolbag. How about the fact that AWS listed all of those bands as MAJOR INFLUENCES in several interviews? And AWS isn't hardcore you a$$hat. Thanks for never posting again though!

I just threw this in again after not listening to it for 3 or so days. I don't know what I was thinking. Sick album through and through.

I gotta say, I think We Built This City might be the best they've written. This Message Edited On 02.19.08

The difference with this album is that it has immense replay value. It's so frickin undeniably good.

Its true, I actually like this a fair amount more now than I did the first couple weeks I had it. Ruiner and Mute Print (much more so MP), were more instant gratification.

I think it's even better than The Horse in terms of the two more stoner-like thrash songs. I just wish it had a cool intro. These Dead Streets is definitely a contender with it too. Cold Slither II=really underrated I think. Those vocal harmonies are bomb.

Also, seeing these guys again in two weeks for free hopefully.

I met and cooked spaghetti for the band last time they were in town, so I'm hoping Bri can get me on the guestlist again. This Message Edited On 03.06.08

I love Cold Slither II, I don't see how people wouldn't like it =/

Same with These Dead Streets/the whole album.

Yeah, I dig what InTransit is saying. We Built this city feels a lot more "epic" to me than The Horse. That and the way that the message behind that song is delivered just screams FUCKING AWESOME. I just cannot believe how much I'm still in love with this disc.

One of my good buddies played a show or two with these guys, he said they were fucking awesome dudes. I find it hard to believe that not be true from reading their posts on their site and seeing interviews. This is a band people should support, through and through.
