Yeah there's something about the sound I actually like. The songs are crap, but the actual sound is pleasing. Reminds me of when I used to play in garages and shit.

it's got that raw masculine powerrrrr appeal similar to brocore and nu metal bands, which is why it sounds neat. The clanging drums are annoying but the heavy raw sound itself it p cool.

Saw this one video from like 2004 where a fan asks Lars how he got his snare drum sound for this album. The kid had his own snare drum on him, so Lars took it from his hands, turned off the snare, gave it back to him, and said "That's it. That's exactly what I did." Sounds about right, it doesn't sound like there was any attempt to actually tune it at all for the album either
