yeah this is "supposedly" one of my favorite albums. if by supposedly you mean I'm pretty damn sure then agreed.

I remember you listing off some stuff that I thought you said was similar but honestly the last few weeks have been crazy and I've been in a prog mood really and just haven't felt like branching out from what you rec'd because what I had heard from what you listed off was pretty good but nothing I'd probably ever listen to again

I was just curious what was "similar from that time period" that you thought was better

no no no. if you only named rorsccach as the third closest band to this you obv havent listened to much. and talk talk really isnt very similar to these guys at all either. these guys are more on the mathy, post-hardcore, even noise rock side of post-rock.

ha they arent exactly obscure bands or some shit. basically all of those are the most popular 80s/90s post-rock, post-hardcore, noise rock, post-punk, indie, math rock, and experimental ish bands.

yeah, definitely gonna be exploring more of this shit... listening to june's first album now, its pretty good but such slint worship with more post-hxc elements... great but they kinda indulge themselves a bit too hard at times, at least on the debut.

insane that they have hundreds of ratings on rym but next to none here. I know sputnik overlooks a lot of stuff, but given how popular slint are around here im surprised they dont get any attention
