well this is my favourite Isis, but there is not much too choose between this and Panopticon. Having said that, in the absence of truth is definitely more accessible.

this is really, really good, but i was expecting something amazing since the general consensus here is "isis are like the good version of tool" - and i love tool, but idk this just seems montonous. awesome, but monotonous.

I don't see this comparison at all.

yeah i don't really either. also a more accurate way of saying how i feel about this album is it's not really monotonous as much as it's a one-trick pony; calming ambience then slow heaviness over and over. i really like the vocals though.

It's honestly what makes the album for me, but to eachs own.
But yeah Aaron's vocals are amazing.

I wanna get into these guys, they have a pretty extensive discography, where's a good place to start?

in the absence of truth is the most accessible, and it's also the longest. the only other album i have is oceanic which rules too, but it's a bit more inaccessible. panopticon is supposed to be good too
