Great review, I never knew you liked Isis.
And I was just saying that I really ****ing despise Oasis.
If you're talking about my Oasis review, that's about 9 months old :p

So do you hate them now?
Great review, great album, etc.
Fun factoid: The female vocals are from Maria Christopher of the band 27, and Turner/Caxide do a guest spot on the 27 song "April". The bands sound nothing alike, but maybe you cool chaps would be interested in this.
So thaaaaaaaaaaat's who that is. 27 are great.

Not really. I don't really listen to them these days though.

I really want this album. I've got some of their older stuff and panopticon, and I like panopticon more. I really need to check this out, but I cant find it anywhere, which is strangem because finding the red sea, celestial etc. Is easy.

Hmmmmm
*Is a fan of all bands in the "For fans of" section*
I think I might have to check Isis out.
Anywhere I can hear something a bit longer than 30 seconds?

Major Bumpage, but having just bought this album, I can say that it kicks ass in many different ways. Perfect. 5/5.

This is the second best post-metal album in my opinion...
Epic, beautiful, emotional...What more can be said?
Perhaps I am overrating these post-metal albums because they -are- very repetitive and I have to be in a certain mood to listen to them...
But as far as I'm concerned. Oceanic by Isis and Thaw by Pelican perfect this genre.
5/5

I'm looking to get into Isis. What album should I buy first, this or the more recent one?

I feel Panotipation is far far better, but this was great that it helped build up to that album.
|

Either really. Both are excellent. This is a little less accessible.

Incredible album, my holy grail. Pelican led me to this album, and Oceanic opened a whole new door for me in the musical world. This Message Edited On 10.12.05

If I had to pick a favorite song on the album, it would have to be Carry. But they are all great.

never heard them, though I now want to.

I have The Red Sea, and I like it, but it's a bit repetitive. Would I like this?

This is alot different.

In what way? I've been hearing they've gotten less heavy.

Wow, knowing my love for electronica and ambience, I bet I would love this album.
