Being in this "minority" is fine with me... my musical tastes have nothing to do with the crowd. As far as continuing this discussion, as long as you continue to use subjective terms to define what the whole should think then there's no reason to continue really... it's been fun though
Crimson - It has grown on me rather then get worse as well...

ha ha... most people that are really into a particular style of music do, especially people into metal for some reason...

yup, there are two types of metalcore fans; converge fans and atreyu fans

I can't consider myself a metalcore fan... I think most of it sounds the same... I like the new Still Remains CD (and the first one to a lesser extent), the new All That Remains CD, and Alive or Just Breathing by Killswitch and that's it. I swing more towards industrial, prog, and generally more experimental music... and maybe 6 or 7 "black metal" bands (I'm using quotes cause I don't want to get into a discussion of what really is black metal, I'm just using the broad definition).

if so then why don't you listen to better bands like fear before the march of flames or just metal like Disillusion

I actually just bought Disillusion on iTunes a few days ago based on a review here and its really awesome... I'm going to buy their second one in a few days.
I had never heard the other band, so I spent a few minutes right now checking out their 30 second samples on iTunes and they seem to sound like Norma Jean or Underoath... neither of which sit well with me.

their second one isn't good
FBTMF is an experimental band you just have to let it sink in

I've read in the comments that the second one isn't good... but it sounds like it's mostly not good cause there's not much metal in it... I'm ok with that.
Recommend an album and I'll get it when I get the second Disillusion CD later in the month.

what a truly boring and horrible album this is. I dont know how anyone can rate it at 3.5.
This is a huge step down from their last album. They took the easy route and decided to make generic metalcore. this album barely holds any of their unique sound that i liked. vocals are dumbed down in the vein of the new ABR, and IDT albums. disappointingThis Message Edited On 09.05.07

I don't see how this is very generic at all. It does a lot of things different then the typical metalcore band. On their last album they didn't have a unique sound, they had a rare unique element or two but that was it.

The new keyboardist sucks, and I like melodic music FYI: Dissection, Arch Enemy etc. I just don't see this being anything good at all, I mean in essence it's dominated by keyboard and it sounds like a very poppy, boring sound with lead-oriented guitars. The main problem I have with this album is consistency, and the problem with the clean vocals is that it sounds like basically anything in a metalcore chorus, except extended; it's vague and doesn't complete the song in a way.

We're thinking the same thing basically... ;)
Except You say: I mean in essence it's dominated by keyboard and it sounds like a very poppy, boring sound with lead-oriented guitars. and you mean it as a bad thing. I think basically the same thing except I like the keyboard dominance and the lead-oriented guitars.
The same thing goes for the extended metalcore choruses.. that could be a true statement, but I've always liked the choruses in most metalcore but thought that they didn't really fit the overall song.
Oh, and I like Dissection (except the last one) and Arch Enemy too (although if Arch Enemy had to break up to get Carcass back together I'd take it in a heartbeat).

Yeah I've liked a lot of metalcore choruses as well in the past, but most bands did it just for the sake of breaking away, and that's what this album sounds like, something that's stuck in a rut.

Back in the day vocalists sang through entire songs without any screaming at all... it wasn't being stuck in a rut, it was just the way it was... maybe being used to that makes this more listenable for me.I just got this a couple days ago just so I had some new music. Haven't really listened to it, but "Anemia In You Sheets" is cool. I think it's pretty good as long as you're not going into it with preconceived ideas of what this band should sound like.

I can totally stand clean vocals all the way, but this is neither powerful nor varied. It is pretty bland and techno-esque.

I guess, but there is a lot of better electronic music out there. I re-wrote my sound off. This Message Edited On 09.22.07

I like the new Sound Off better... it describes your opinion of what this CD is instead of what this CD isn't...
I definitely know there is better electronic bands out there, and I listen to them more often then this... I don't think this is an awesome CD by any means... but it is a great CD for when I'm up to listening to some heavy/melodic music that's not really too challenging.

It's weird because of the styles they're mixing; I'd agree with that...
