As I Lay Dying....tsk tsk tsk.....they certainly were exploring new things with this album....NOT! Not to say they didn't try new things like ummm improving a Am I Evil intro with cool keyboards in the background. I'm not saying this was a let down cause it did have its nice riffs here and there. Remember i said RIFFS but NOT SOLOS! The sound of truth had the only enjoyable solo but thats it. 94 Hours will always rule though.

i think i enjoyed this album a bit more than most, but by and large i agree with this review. i haven't listened to it that much since i bought it. "Sound of Truth" is best song IMO, it's catchy and has a great message; prolly one of their most overtly-Christian songs, along with "Behind Me Lies Another Fallen Soldier"

why do people like this new AILD album? Ive heard it a few times but I didnt like it at all.

I would listen to this rather than their old stuff. But thats just me.

this album is fucking awesome...no filler tracks at all and the best part, they dont sound like anyone else anymore with their new found "heavily trash influenced metalcore". This new album totally blew me away. And the new songs destroy live, saw em last night. Just wanted to add that i dont like converge one bit, i wouldnt even classify em as metalcore. I'm surprised no one mentioned killswitch engage? Alive Or Just Breathing? is imo, the best metalcore album ever made and even one the best metal albums overall.This Message Edited On 09.27.07

Emm.. Alive or Just Breathing is definitely not one of the best metalcore albums ever made, Jane Doe certainly is.

I honestly think Alive or Just Breathing is one of the best. Even if you don't agree with the quality of it, you at least must respect its impact. After all it pretty much did bring metalcore to the mainstream and caused the death of nu-metal.

I wonder what's worse, generic nu-metal or generic metalcore!
