I don't really understand the gripe with Christian bands.

SpinLightTwo: As a Christian my opinion is that most people that have a gripe with Christian bands have a gripe with anything Christian. But I also agree that many Christian bands, regardless of genre, are not up to par with their secular counterparts. Some examples of good Christian bands are IMO: Becoming The Archetype, Demon Hunter, Zao, Living Sacrifice, Blindside, some Underoath, Emery, but you all have heard of them, probably because they're the best right now. And there's plenty of good secular bands with Christian themed and/or uplifting lyrics: Thrice, Coldplay, The White Stripes, Switchfoot, Dream Theater, etc. Sorry if I went on too long.

I agree somewhat Mediocre.

Thrice are at the top of their game and really blow may others way out of the water, and Emery are fine tuned pop punk as well.

I just think that they should be respected, regardless. This Message Edited On 08.17.07

Yes, nor can I. Real bummer about the distribution, though. We will only see two of them this year.

Crysis, listen to Becoming the Archetype's debut...Terminate Damnation.

Superb and not boring at all.

their new record fell down a big hill

Light Shall Prevail and Crimson Moonlight are both very good christian bands. I also like Demon Hunter and Extol. As I Lay Dying are too generic to me.

I think your review is pretty much spot on. overall they have grown as a band as this is their best work to date.

each area of their music is improved, however, tim's vocals are still pretty horrible imo, even for a metalcore band.

Definitely a step up from their previous release, and they are definitely moving in the right direction, but I'll still say this album is just mediocre.

Good review, as well.

Another great review by TWE. I, however, must agree with Cocaine on the rating. I would say it's a 2.5 with a slight chance to move to a 3, and no further.

First of all Cocaine is an idiot. Second of all the review isn't bad but it seems a little juvenile to me. I know you mentioned being a fan not a fanboy but it does seem fanboyish to me.
