“figaro” beat doesn’t hit the same pleasure centers as America’s most blunted raid et al but the way it sort of trips over itself is so cool. honestly starting to think short track lengths are like a boon for album experiences lol. Obviously it depends on the music but it’s like (oddly enough) a super long movie, insofar as They take up a disproportionate amount of my favorites lists, and because it’s a fun way to transform the experience—almost turns it into a reflexive game depending on how the artist deploys it. Bee thousand and this r the masterstrokes of the style for me, pink flag the OG. Haven’t thought hard about it though

I don't 5 things because they're perfect, I 5 them because they hit such high levels of enjoyment moreso than the vast majority of albums I listen to. I mean, other than Liquid Swords, I can't really think of a hip hop album that is perfect front to back. Even Illmatic has a throw away track imo.
