Nice to see you like the Stones man. Overlooked band on this site.

The Stones are still second to the Beatles for me, but I can't deny that they're a fantastic band.

The Who > both

I've always thought the Beatles were a bit safe and basic musically, although I haven't jammed 'em much album-wise. So that limits my opinion.

Fair enough. I respect the Beatles more due to the fact that they were the first band that I actually liked as a kid, and because they didn't bother to put out as many stinkers as the Stones. I gotta jam more of the Who, though.

Haven't jammed The Who much sadly.

This is a pretty tough album to stomach, but I dig it.

Danny, you've got to hear from Revolver through Abbey Road. Very little of it safe or basic musically. It's still not like crazy guitar solos, but they use dissonance and the kind of harmonic textures you find in 20th century classical. I'd say they were only second to Zappa in terms of mid-late 60s avant garde rock. And the fact they're catchy as hell is a bonus ;)

Need to British Invasion hard basically.

"I've always thought the Beatles were a bit safe and basic musically"
Far from that man. I think that you'll definitely realise that if you check their discog.

The Beatles were very diverse, they were commercial, yes, but safe is not the best term to describe their stuff, they took a lot of big risks throughout their career
