yeah, they are ok and pretty heavy. but i think it's because they are easy to play and most of them are similar to each other. and of course no mind-blowing tapping/shredding.
if you took a guitar and tuned E down to A you could basically play all their songs. many of their riffs are like 0-00-12-00-00013131313.

Doesn't matter it works for KoRn.
|

Unfortunately, I bet this will get a large amount of 1s when the release date comes due to bias against Korn.
How was Bozzio's drumming in this?

Or it might get a large amount of 1's because it's pretty bad.

Good review. You've actually convinced me that this might be enjoyable.

I'd get it.
Bitch, We Got a Problem clocks in third on the album and sounds a lot like a Nine Inch Nails song.

The song quickly changes tempos and rhythms
The song sounds like nothing Korn has done before. I actually like the vibe of it. What makes it even more impressive, is that Davis is on the drums, although it does sound a bit programmed. This Message Edited On 07.27.07

What happened to Silvera?

| |
as far as i know, Silveria and the band agreed on a temporary haitus because he was stressed down a lot. so now he can focus more on his thai restaurant.

I thought only Staff reviewers could post reviews before the release date?

I used to be a big fan of Korn, yet over time I simply lost interest. And to be quite honest, after listening to this...
I was NOT impressed. Yeah, it's got a new, fresh industrial sound, blah blah. But in all honesty, the album never seems to get going.
Edit: But good review, though hahaThis Message Edited On 07.27.07

:/!!! fair enough.
'guess there are coming a lot of these.

Ok, I got through most of this, and this is nowhere near what the rating gave it. It's definately a 2 out of 5 tops. This album is so boring compared even with stuff like Take A Look In The Mirror, with all its ripped off riffing.
|
| |
Take a Look in the Mirror is absolutely horrible. for one, the vocals mostly are uninspired and way too high-pitched. and worst of all, the verses. it's like Davis can't come with anything else than lousy poppy melodies, and it only gets worse on the following album.
second is the production. it sounds like nu-metal mixed with the 80's sound. ugh... that snare drum sound is terrible (and i think worse than St. Anger!); i actually don't get why some people compare this to their early releases.
my point is that the untitled of course is better; nothing can be worse than the last two load of bull. it can only get better.

Like I said before, I really don't know what makes these people happy. Sometimes I think I'm in a different vein with the reviewers; to me it used to be, "if the reviewers hate it; it's gold!"
I fell away from that, but this is easily Korn's best release and one of the best of 2007; and most websites are very happy and feel the same way with me about it. It really puzzles me how people could not like it or call it boring.
