Kill Em All is one of my favorite Metallica CDs. Seek and Destroy is awesome
Totally agree with that, most people who listen to Metallica I know (And trust me, it's only a handful of people who I could trust with a good opinion) think that Seek and Destroy is the worst song on Kill 'em All.
I don't know why, but I love it!
maybe you're ignorant if you can't hear all of the blues influenced solos. you're probably also tone deaf if you can't hear all the blues chord progressions.

did you really have to be such a senseless jerk? tsk tsk.
Not exactly blues inspired.... Kirk plays classical

And while on the subject, My Friend of Misery has nice bass riffs in it. But I do think Rob hammers Newsteads *** on bass.

Has anyone noticed that on most Metallica songs they follow this type of pattern?

Intro
Verse
Chorus
Verse
Chorus
Interlude
Chorus
Solo
Chorus repeated x times(x being a different number but quite a few)

No, there's no "Interlude-Chorus-Solo" to speak of. The solo comes after the chorus is repeated the second time, usually. Maybe they do that sometimes for your eight-minute epics, but they never repeat the chorus that many times.
He masterfully uses the double bass, probably his finest attribute, and has an uncanny ability to keep time, even during the fastest songs and challenging drum patterns.
HAhahahhahahah

You couldn't have said "I'm not a drummer" more perfectly. :thumb:
Well you certainly have a mouth on you, don't you.. haha it seems you have not been to many metallica concerts?

if you think kirk cant improvise for nothing, than maybe you havent heard his random amazing doodles that he does at every concert, or seen all the improv he does.. and to say he has no soul???? thats bs if ive ever heard it  he freaking wrote all of the rest of metallica solos, are those bad too?? cause you know, he has no soul and all

and there is more than 1 solo on MOP song, and hetfield only wrote the one where they are doing the synchronized solo

Anyways, Cliff Rules! lol :thumb:
i disagree, i recently seen metallica live in detroit this month and kirk did a few solo/doodles things while they were good, they were weak and lacked alot of feeling IMO.
highlighting on jason newsted...he wasnt as good as cliff burton in the skill department. BUT he contributed to metallica in a different way, instead of playing insane solos he created an intense stage presence, he could get the crowd in a frenzy. He still was a skillful bass player, you cant really hear his work too well in and justice and black album, but as the albums progressed you could hear the bass a bit more.
i can hear jason's bass pretty decently on black, he got such a great bass w/ pick tone on that album

bump. Finally got this album. It's awesome, although it has nothing on ride the lightning IMO. And kirk's solos are all pretty similar sounding. Otherwise though its a great album.

Kirk Hammet sucks. He is a wuss, he is whiny (like the rest of Metallica), and he can't even play guitar well. Have any of you noticed that he plays every single one of his solos in the minor pentatonic scale? And I don't hate him because I suck - I can play whatever he plays. I just don't want to.

whoever the f.u.c.k. you people are, you dont know thrash or speed metal without listening to Kill Em All
first off, if you think kirk hammett played guitar in Kill Em All, you're f.u.c.k.ing stupid, that was dave mustaine who wrote and played all the **** for kill em all
second, dont diss kirk, he's not a jimi hendrix distorter master, and hes not that that fast at guitaring but he's not bad...i mean he was smart for leaving agent orange back in like 83-84 to metallica
but Kill Em All is a totally underrated album
id say it is one of the most influential thrash albums put out there, also to have a bass solo on your debut album thats showing youve got balls and skills to with em.
metallica rules
