Dunno if anybody else catches this and if it was intentional or not, but I find this record to have somewhat of an eerie vibe. Like there is some slight feeling of dread throughout.

I mean, maybe it's a side effect of me having smoked too much in the past, but I can't help but think that this album has a bit of an uncanny atmosphere that wasn't really repeated in any of their other work.

I have nostalgia for this and the second record, but either this or The Anti-Mother is probably my least favorite Norma Jean album.

The Anti-Mother probably deserves more points because it's not a blatant Botch ripoff, but this record is more exciting to listen to. Hmm...

O God has it too, but there was even a video up on YouTube at one point comparing Botch songs and the parts in Norma Jean songs that contain parts that are practically straight lifted from Botch songs. It's not available anymore, but I remember the most came from this album.

It's more the instrumentals than Scogin.
