"Visiting Friends" no longer bothers me very much at all. 6:00-7:00 or so I might start nodding off (which isn't even bad, necessarily!) but ~8:00 it gets into a real nice groove, probably because of those "croaking" sounds on the 2 and 4 beats. Real good for lying down and relaxing.

And, still, best AC album. Each one is a potential favorite, except maybe "Kids on Holiday" and "Whaddit I Done", both of which are still fairly awesome.

kids on holiday is so good though! though this is the third best animal collective release, it's as vital as almost anything from their catalog

I do like Kids on Holiday, especially its unseen-elsewhere-on-the-album fuzz/distortion drums and I think it sports quite the melody, but it could do better with what it has. Perhaps trimming the fat

"The Softest Voice", "Winter's Love", and "Mouth Wooed Her" for me.

1.5 very poor DivinityOfPan | February 15th 10

Sung Tongs is a heap of faux-exoticism that is laid waste with its lack of memorable musical moments and a lack of conviction that is in the guise of pretentious, contrived transethnic qualities. Unlike Vampire Weekend, the tracks here rarely have a saving grace. Very few choruses are memorable, and very few save a lulling track from fading into obscurity. Animal Collective failed with this release, and what a major failure it was.

yeah this album has the worst choruses

This album should be experienced as an album. Very euphoric and relaxing, simultaneously. Like most Animal Collective, it grows on me more and more with each listen.

Yeah, I think this is my favorite Animal Collective. This > MPP > Feels > Strawberry > everything else.

Were there a lot of green leaves wherever it was? I bet there were.
