MPP, Strawberry Jam, and Fall Be Kind are sooooo good.

I'll have to make AnCo one of my discog goals for 2017.

i like this one a lot, its just that i havent spent as much time with it as i have with MPP, strawberry jam, or feels, and pretty much all of their albums have grown on me over time

id say this is def more of a grower type of album even more so than most of their other stuff. certainly not all of it seems to make sense the first few times, now i see it as wonderful (even whaddit i done, somehow)

Nice to read how much this one resonates with you Stallion. This is borderline 4.5 material for me... hasn’t embedded itself in my brain as much as Feels or Strawberry Jam, but magical all the same.

i just find their acoustic stuff so carefree and calming, when you take away most of that manic energy that makes up most of their other albums you get something that feels just like a vacation. i can honestly feel the stresses and worries leaving my body/mind when i put any song from this on

person pitch has a similar effect on me but sounds more like napping on the beach instead of getting high w your bestest friends deep in the woods

I get that, for sure. Albums like this and Campfire Songs are so meditative and calm. They 'transport me to the woods' better than any LSD-drenched psych record from the 60s or 70s. Really atmospheric stuff.

I guess with that manic energy come more complex and dynamic compositions, which I find give me more to marvel at. I also seem to get more emotionally attached to their energetic albums... Avey and Panda just seem more inclined to sing their hearts out in the context of a busy and effervescent song, than a sprawling folk tune. A vocal a la Fireworks would break the spell on this album.
