Just to see what you can stand
Before you do as the
Devil pleases...
Been in a very Elliott mood the past couple days

I love when the piano drops in on 'Pitseleh' gives me goosebumps. The strings on the final lyrics of 'Waltz 2' are perfect as well. He was brilliant at giving you little moments of genius. One of the most authentic artists I can think of.

Album rules hard. I'm more familiar with the very stripped-down folk sound of his earlier releases, but this is exceptional in a somewhat different style. This has been on repeat the last few days.

Been listening to this throughout this week and of course it's another beaut. I think "Waltz #1" is my favorite so far.

It's okay, it's all right, nothing's wrong
Tell Mr. Man with impossible plans to just leave me alone
In the place where I make no mistakes
In the place where I have what it takes

"Pitseleh"'s a good 'un too.
I've now moved on to Figure 8. Ultimately this is certainly great but I found myself a tad underwhelmed. Every song is at least really good and most are excellent, but I'd say the Waltzes are the only ones that go to the next level for me. Sitting on a solid 4 so I'm really not knocking it at all, just didn't love it quite as much as Either/Or.
