I don't understand the hate on "Semi-Fiction". The vocals are great, very toit riffage, and I happen to love the breakdown and especially the outro. Overall I happen to think the album is a bit more solid than Doppleganger, especially considering that half of said record was already done on the self-titled debut. Tim and Andrew also stepped up quite a bit on this record as well. However, Erak's singing flat-out sucks on a lot of this album, Matt Bayles did an absolutely terrible job mixing it, and it's far more restrained than past releases, musically.
I wouldn't hold my breath for the Ghostship album, though. I mean the timetable for its supposed release is currently way off, not to mention it would be a bit redundant for them to go backwards musically into their older style when Erak and Co. have made it pretty apparent that they want to hit newer musical horizons. Despite that, I would absolutely love hearing newer takes of Parts I, IV, and V.

finally got round to listening to this, and i agree with the overall description in the review, there is a lot of needless overindulgence and the lyrics are truly awful. like 'A Man...' has some superb song structures in it, but you have to dig them out of the overall mess.
however, i still listen to it several times a day just because i love the fact that the primary motivation for their albums so consistently appears to be the desire to simply show off how good they are, and i shamelessly always find that appealing.

This album sucks so hard. Seriously, I can only take so many of the exact same sounding dissonant riffs and pinch harmonics before I want to scream, and thats really all this album is.
Problem?! and Sledgehammer are really the only two songs worth anything on here. They just happen to be very, very good. The opening track is the worst song ever.
