The Rolling Stones has always referred to themselves as the "The Greatest Rock & Roll Band In the World" whether the name is true or not. You simply can not deny their ability to simply not fade away. Even when they have had as many troubles as they have had, the most notable of these is the many drug addictions througout the band. It is no secret that they have had many troubles in that area. Keith Richards once said "I do not have a drug problem, I have a police problem". By the time they had started working on
Sticky Fingers they were pretty worn out with their own problems. That is mostly what contributed to the mood of the album. The album itself has a very laid back, drug induced feel to it. However, the lyrics are very controversial especially those on "Brown Sugar" obviously mentioning slavery, sex, and other controversial subjects. Now onto the songs.

Brown Sugar - This is a classic Stones song, and continues to get tons of airplay even these days. Starts off with a very basic blues riff, then goes right into Mick's singing about some very controversial issues. Mainly racism, and interracial sex. Besides that , there is some nice sax playing throughout the song that just add to the overall mood of the song. Fantastic Song.

Sway - This is a little slower song than the last one, it is also not as guitar driven as the last one had seemed to be. Lyrically the song is nothing too special in itself, just a song basically about having trouble in life. There is a pretty nice guitar solo towards the end of the song, that really stands out.

Wild Horses - This is a very laid back relaxing piece of music from the Stones. It is one of the more popular Stones songs that has been released. It is also one of the most emotional pieces they have ever done. It leans a bit more towards a country song rather than to a blues song. Which is great, its always great to see them play different styles. The lyrics in the song, are some of his best I think. This is a great song, one of my favorites.

Can't You Hear Me Knocking - This song starts off with a very addictive blues riff that really holds the rest of the song together. The lyrics again are alright, but really nothing too special, but on this song the instrumentation is the main focus. And they flow really great together on the song. Towards the middle of the song there is some interesting percussion, followed by some great sax playing and that changes the whole mood of the song. That goes on for a little while, until the guitars come in and deliver a fabulous guitar solo. Towards the end they go for a little while with a really catchy guitar riff. Then the song slowly starts to fade away and thats the end.

You Gotta Move - In the start you can hear Keith playing a slide! That is pretty unexpected, even though they do play the blues, they rarely ever use a slide. Mick's voice in the song is completely different, from usual it has a much deeper tone that really adds to the blues they are playing. After a little while there is a guitar solo that is really great. My only problem with the song is that it is too short than what I would've liked. But still good song.

Bitch - The beginning of the song is a lot more fast and upbeat than past songs on the album, but it is a very addictive riff. The song itself is about sex, as the title would probaly suggest. The song gets a little repetitive over a certain amount of time. Overall it is a decent song.

I Got The Blues - When you read the title you probaly think that it is going to be a really bluesy song. But once the song gets started it is obvious it is just a really slow, relaxing love song. I think its an ok song nothing really too special though. The only really standout part is at the middle when there is an organ solo, which sounds kind of out of place with the song. Ok Song.

Sister Morphine - This song is a very emotional piece of music by the Stones, by listening to the lyrics it is obvious that the song is about a drug overdose gone bad. Note: The stones had many drug problems, incase you did not know. It is nothing too special musically, basically just strumming some chords on the ol' acoustic throughout most of the song. There is a little bit of slide guitar here in there, which is great but nothing too special. Stlll a great song either way though.

Dead Flowers - This is a more upbead, happy, country song compared to the depressing "Sister Morphine". From the title one may think that it would be another very depressing song. But it is almost exactly the opposite. Pretty good song.

Moonlight Mile - The opening chords of this song are in my opinion beautiful. The song is a slower song, the song itself is just about being on the road all the time and never seeing home. It is a great way to close a great album.

Overall the album is pretty consistent and just great overall. It does not have very many low moments, but quite a few high moments.
