I have mostly CD's but i have my favorites on vinyl. Makes a difference on my shelf stereo.
I'm jealous i only have an old car cd player no changer not even an aux cable.

I don't even have a car... It's all about ripping and jamming on an mp3 player on my bike for me.
|
| |
My only means of playing stuff in my car atm is CD player or FM transmitter from my phone, which is notably lesser quality than the CD so I been grabbin' a handful every time I leave the house, basically
Fortunately I've accumulated about 600+ over the past 10 yrs, not even counting burnt stuff, lolz
and this:
"I know this is a half-joke and I won't give the elitist vinyl-spiel, but there is something to be said for having the physical format of your absolute favorites, kind of frees you from relying on fickle streaming rights. They might all go the way of King Crimson and De La Soul.
At this point, even digital files on my external harddrive feel like a real tangible contingency plan."
is pr much spot-on

Agreed hard. That's why I like to own everything I love on a physical product as well. Plus you create a very cool library of all you've loved enough to buy which is cool because of nostalgia.
All these Within Temptation and Rammstein cds always remind me of good times.

It's weird listening to Beat Laments the World knowing Shiki no Uta exists, but they're both good.

i don't know what that is nor how it relates to beat laments :0

nvm i just listened to it, so it was sampled?

Beat Laments the World and Shiki no Uta are almost the same song, albeit with some differences. Beat Laments is largely instrumental aside from the one rap part, while Shiki has vocals throughout the whole song, minus the sax solo (which in Beat Laments is accompanied by rapping). The instrument arranges are also fairly different as well.
I say it's weird because I've listened to Shiki no Uta way more considering it's the ending song to Samurai Champloo, a show I've watched quite a few times, not to mention listening to the wonderful soundtrack(s) that goes with it.

But yeah, to put it brief, Shiki no Uta is like a re-done version of Beat Laments the World, but both are still good on their own.

i feel the differences are very substantial, but i can see where you're coming from :0
i enjoyed the familiarity when listening to shiki no uta for the first time just now tho, having listened to beat laments for years already; it was like discovering a secret level lol
