This is a lot "cleaner" than their later releases, not sure what to rate just yet.

This is growing on me day by day.

Horns ov Baphomet and No Sympathy for Fools are killer tracks.

In the next couple of weeks I probably will upgrade mine to 4.0.

However their next 3 albums are better IMO.

I've yet to make it all the way through the album yet, just started in on it. I like their latest album the most, and I need to give The Apostasy another listen to see whether it's behind Demigod or on equal ground.

Indeed their last rules damn hard.

Different albums. Demigod is more violent however The Apostasy has some unbelievable great riffs.

The Apostasy's Slaying the Prophets ov Isa, Prometherion and specially Be Without Fear and Libertheme are killer songs.

The guitar work and drums are so technically precise on this album. The riffs and solos are absolutely spot-on and fit well into the blackened atmosphere of the album, whereas the drums stand out so much, what with their sometimes militaristic beats and blisteringly fast blastbeat action. The two songs running under one minute don't seem to be useful in any way whatsoever, but the other 10 songs more than make up for it. One of behemoth's best for sure.

Damnit, there are so many 4.5/5s in my death metal section

I don't mean for it to be that way, there's just too many classic metal albums out there. :/

I think this album has the most interesting guitar work, with the tapping and other atmospheric parts. The album has the most variety too, and is the most intense to my ears with the most aggressive vocals of all their albums so far. Especially songs like 'Modern Iconoclasts' and 'The Harlot Of The Saints'.

Really don't know why I used to hate this so much. I decided to spin it for the first time in a few years and it's still nothing spectacular, but it's worthy of a 3 at the very least.
