for black metal, the production is really good. It would be considered average by anyone else's standards though. You can hear all the instruments clearly and the levels are pretty good. A little more bass than your typical black metal production, but still trebly. Great, great album. One of my favorites in the black metal genre.

Fantastic, fantastic album. Top-notch Black Metal with some sweet melodies thrown in.
The title track is a monster. I was skeptical about this when I bought it but now I realize it was worth every single penny.

We just had an icestorm here, and everytime I look at the woods behind my house it reminds me of this cd.

You would probably like these albums:
Abigor - Nacththymnen
Drudkh - Autumn Aurora
Nokturnal Mortum - Goat Horns
Wolves in the Throne Room - Two Hunters
Sigh - Hangman's Hymn
All of those should appeal to you since they have clear enough production and draw influences from other genres.

I dont think that this is Immortals best like some say. I found myself getting a little bored during this album. My favorite songs are Tradgedies Blown At Horizon and Where Dark And Light Dont Differ.

Excellent review, this is my favourite Immortal album. You're a credit to this site, Shadows, this is quality stuff.
As for the album, well it isn't exactly full on Black Metal but it is nice. This album really is air guitar material.

This is the Immortal album with the most Thrash Metal influence on it. Most of them have it, but this has a lot of it.
