Review does, indeed, fail. I listened to Breaking Romulus. I agree with the soundoff about it being too corporate, trying to capitalize on the irony of having a xylophone.

well a lot of people are calling these kinds of bands nu-metal just because of the "whiny" emotional
content in the lyrics.
i was always under the impression that nu-metal was the mix of rap and rock.
some people are putting it under the category of any band that mixes metal with other genres like
jazz,hip-hop,etc.
some are even labeling it as any band with down-tuned simplistic riffs and simple song structure.
i guess if you add all of that than breaking benjamin is nu-metal. although i will always just see
them as mainstream rock i guess.

You bashed this album really well, I'd have to say. I lol'd at some parts, which is usually a plus for me.
I'd have to agree with your review. I'd compare this to Mayday Parade: catchy vocal work, no substance anywhere else.
Honestly, after getting out of this scene and getting into progressive indie/metal/hardcore, this sounds like total boring trash.

I like this album essppeeccciaalllyyy The Diary of Jane but BB's habit of finishing every chorus with the intro gets really damn annoying.

This is an amazing album if you like this genre of music. You obviously do not and shouldn't be reviewing such things it gives people the wrong impression and makes you look dumb for not knowing what you are talking about (which you don't).

Wow, I really really really disagree with this review, it sounds more like this guy has more of a personal grudge against this band. I mean, it's not perfect, but I believe that this is a great album mad by a great band.
