Wow, color me surprised. That was easily their best song since For We Are Many. Phil actually doesn’t sound too bad either although the lyrics are still awful

Phil's vocals are actually a highlight of the song for me, which I never thought I would ever say again.

Overcome was such shit... I know that was only the beginning of the backwards slide and some people have nostalgia for it still, but fuck that album, it ruined everything. TDH and TFOI were clinics in modern metalcore songwriting and musicianship. They had one of the craziest falls from grace of any band I can think of, everything just went horribly wrong.

Their first decent song in YEARS but it's still pretty generic.

I'll take this generic-core over whatever the fuck the last 5 albums were supposed to be.

And yeah Overcome was boring. I always confuse that one with ...For We Are Many which was decent.

...For We Are Many had like 2 halfway decent songs, the T/T and Hold On. I wouldn't call it decent, but it was slightly less soul-destroying than the following 3 albums that had fuck-all.

I actually really dig Overcome, but yeah mostly due to nostalgia I can easily admit. Haven’t given this one a proper spin in years. Adding it to the list

It's so hard to pick favourites, ADIMA is so good but Focus Shall Not Fail has that crazy bridge/solo that is pure MoP worship and that devastating melancholic breakdown at the end. Tattered On My Sleeve is another amazing song that takes a huge tonal shift halfway in. ...And of course the T/T goes. The. Fuck. In.

I definitely think it could use a few more points on the ol' average there.

Everyone lost their shit so hard over Fall Of Ideals they forgot that this was the superior album. This shit is just way better, more technical, and way more tasteful in its mainstream appeal. Fall is amazing but overrated in comparison.

I wouldn't say superior, but they are both pretty close for me. Fall is just so catchy and has what feels like almost endless replay value.

I think the songwriting is definitely more interesting here, and I like the heavier overall sound this brings too.

This is more consistent, but Fall has better highlights, I think.
