I'm haven't listened to this in years until tonight and man, this still sounds as ambitious as ever.

Randomly got the urge to listen to this tonight and it really holds up well. First 3 tracks are back to back bangers. I forgot how many awesome riffs are loaded into this thing.

It is very good! I think the songwriting on Damage Done is a tad better, but this is very close. I was walking the dogs yesterday and decided to put Atoma for the first time since it was released, and it's actually a prettty decent DT album! Kinda surprised me how much I enjoyed it tbh, because I remember think it was just okay.

My fave melodeath album (that doesn’t descend too far into prog territory) is Quo Vadis - Day Into Night. At the Gates debut is right up there, but it’s not really in the same category.

@Omair, I've heard that complaint about II but it's some of the best riffs ever and the way he loops back to previous riffs is cool
