The only song that clicked instantly is The Philosopher. This is one of the few Death songs where i can actually sense some malice, Chuck is really pissed off on that one

Yeah "The Philosopher" was possibly my first too. As soon as I heard that main riff I was hooked.
It's interesting because my last roommates were self-admitting and proud trailer trash, who typically prefered shitty 2000's butt rock like Nickelback or Buckcherry and would make fun of me for listening to "satanic screamo" like Death. But this was the ONE death song that they loved, and it was because of that main riff and the bass solo. Watching some rednecks add this song to their playlists was super satisfying.

that was also my first Death song, but I didn't get into them properly until I heard Symbolic and I think Zero Tolerance was the song that sold me on them

its amazing yeah but my fav tune on this is trapped in a corner. some of chucks best riffs and an amazing andy laroque solo. top tier.
