Coheed hasn't made a lackluster album so I'm completely comfortable with whatever direction they're taking.

I'm not a big No World For Tomorrow fan, but even that had some catchy material

Yeah uh, No World for Tomorrow was terrible. I could just be blurred by how awesome their first three efforts were, but oh well.
I'm just wondering who they're recording bass guitar with for this album...Claudio should just do that shit himself!

@mikeg
I actually had this conversation with my uncle at our place of employment the other day. We both agreed that NWFT would of been a solid album from any other band but with the expectations that come with listening to a coheed album it just came off as offensive to the ears
Not a bad album by any means. The talent and songwriting is there, they just could of done so much better. I suppose it was what THEY wanted to write, though.
We also talked about The Prize Fighter Inferno and how it could of been so much better if he didn't use a drum machine. ugh

^ all great points. When you write 2 (arguably 3) classics for your first albums it's hard to live up to expectations. I just didn't find any moments on NWFT that captivated me, and that's what I look for in most music.
And yeah Prize Fighter Inferno could have been awesome. They still have a couple good tracks.

I'd argue 3, although the first 2 are obviously superior

It's pretty disappointing to see that Claudio can't sing live like he does on the album at all. I always thought he had an incredibly high voice and people compared him to Anthony Green and stuff, but no, not at all.
|
| |
^? i saw them live right after they released that black rainbow album and his voice was pretty spot on. they mostly played songs off black rainbow and not too many off of silent earth but they were all great. oh, and circa survive played before them that show and anthony green does inded have an amazing voice live as well

Well, I was really excited to see how he does the ending of Three Evils live, so I watched the song live of the Neverender thingy and I thought it was pretty weak.

His voice has gotten a lot deeper as they've gotten older as a band, and even in the In Keeping Secrets days they had to play "A Favor House Atlantic" a half-step down due to the vocal range being too high.
