A agree that the vocals are horrible. I was afraid i was the only one that thought that when i first heard the song "Were gonna have us a champaign jam". There just barely tolerable, its especially bad when he tries to scream. But besides that i find guitar the work very appealing. Its not so technical that it becomes too much. Yet stays away from Green Day I-IV-V power chords progressions. This band has alot of talent and 1.5 is too low of a rating.

Craig Owens cannot carry out a note to save his life. The band uses nothing but cliche elements to craft a pretty much derivative sound. Although, I have mentioned this all in the review, and yes, personal preferance was involved, but thats half of what reviews are anyway. As long as your opinion is based in fact, then its legit.

I don't think they are very talented at all. It doesn't take much to play the same few faux-metal arpeggiated riffs over the course of a whole album.

EDIT: Thanks for negging my review because you don't agree with it Dpk321! This Message Edited On 02.20.07

I love how people are coming to this thread talking about how creative and original they are when they arent.

Hilarious.

Yep. Pure fools.

There should be a law against them. Or maybe a different site for little "roflpwnt fanboys".

I can't even stand this anymore. It used to be like "Meh, this is at least a little enjoyable." Not anymore.

But he speaks the truth.

for one thing, they are very original. i highly doubt you can name another band that mixes the same elements like they do.

You're right, sort of. Most bands are smart enough not to do this. But that hardly makes them original. Just different, in that "Johnny's extra arm is useful in dodgeball, but he walks lopsided and can't play his guitar worth shit" way, so you pity him more than envy.

Or something like that.

THIS BAND DESERVES SHITTY SIMILES.

"Yeah. It's a shame it doesn't matter because his point is probably stupid and idiotic." ...... ouch. i know im real stupid for disagreeing with that poor rating. sorry, i forget the comment feature was only meant to agree with the reviewer, and only for intelligent people like you

but by "underground" (quotes are important here) i mean hardcore/screamo. thats what they mixed with pop right? but labeling is lame, hence the quotes

but thats not even my point. my point is that they are original. and in response to that i get "Most bands are smart enough not to do this" ..... haha yah exactly. they're so smart because they didnt do something new and become successful and recognized.... wow.

and canyoneer, i didnt mean to hurt your feelings. i negged your review because i thought it was exaggerated and based on things besides their music. can we still be friends?

and also, wtf is a "roflpwnt fanboys" ??

In the roflpwnt fanboy comment, i was referring to this other kid who kept putting "roflpwnt" after his terribly inane postings like he was some kind of hotshot. I wasnt exactly calling you that, but I think its safe to say that we can lump you in the same group with that other unenlightened kid. =]

Did that answer your question? This Message Edited On 02.21.07

i knew the second someone asked me what i meant by "underground" they were just trying to start a genre fight, which is stupid.

but Iluvatar, they dont mix hardcore/screamo??? they scream and have hardcore chuga chuga breakdowns? theyre obviously not a "hardcore" or "screamo" band, but they def mix those genres with a poppunk base.

"It's purely pop-punk in the vein of Taking Back Sunday, albeit more technical. " are we talking about the same band? if you think a song like "the words best friend become redefined" is anything like TBS then you need to get your ears checked

C'mon Iluvatar! They scream and go chuga chuga, how are they not hardcore/screamo?

i have to dissagree with you iarescientists, they are not hardcore or screamo. o wait, your being sarcastic.... but read my post, i specifically make the point of saying they arent, but add those elements to poppunk. so (1) theyre not hardcore or screamo and (2) they are not "purely pop punk in the vein of TBS"

does everyone still think im stupid/a rolfpantfanboy / a meanie doo doo face who doesnt praise this chiodos review ? if so im sorry, i just wanted to get it out there that i think they deserve atleast a rating of 3 for being original
