this album is pretty good, it's certainly no Sing The Sorrow, but it's just alright in my book.

^^ U must get STS NOW. It is just awsome.

The only setback I found to this album was a litle monotony. This Message Edited On 03.20.07

Nice review. :D
I can listen to this whole CD the whole way through, starting with track 3 (My current fave) and skipping Weathered Tome.

I can't even list my faves, they're all really solid.

Oh yeah Malleus Maleficarum has AMAZING lyrics dealing with discrimination, and apparently it's the name of a witch hunt in the middle ages, giving it its "we all begin to burn" theme that could be applies in a Crucible esque way to today's world.

I like STS better than this, but this has some awesome songs. Malleus Maleficarum is the best song on here.

This album is the best AFI have made, I've been listening to it for years and I'm still not bored of it.

I'm going to listen to this over break and see how it is. I thought that AFI had always sounded like Decemberunderground, but then I came here, and apparently they used to sound different.

I'd like to hear that.

It might be easier to work backwards instead of jumping straight to this one, even though it's amazing. Even though there's a big jump between the Art of Drowning and Sing the Sorrow, there's still some sort of evolution in their sound between each album with a few being between the newest and this.

AoD sits in between the styles of STS and Black Sails, a little more towards Black Sails. I definitely recommend checking that out along with this.

Alright I'll definitely check them both out. I'm listening to the All Hallows E.P. right now. It's... different.

Black Sails is similar to All Hallows. You don't really need to work backwards, if you like All Hallows you'll definitely like Black Sails. I highly recommend you do though, and check out AoD too, they're both albums you just can't miss out on.This Message Edited On 12.17.07

the grower in AFI's discography. Sing the Sorrow was my favorite for a while but now i'd say either this one or The Art of Drowning is.
