Sputnik as a whole seems to have the exact opposite opinion of this band that I do. Whilst each of their lps are rated progressively higher, I think TDWP became progressively more generic over time (their new stuff in unlistenable to me). Despite the absolute shitstorm that is the comments on this review that are almost a decade old now, I think Dear Love ended up being their most unique and experimental album. There's also no denying that Mike Hranica sounded his best on this one and Plagues.
(And yes, Zombie EP is amazing and a complete outlier from the above statement)
