This is probably one of the last good albums they did.I also thought adding the orchestration if any other layers to their sound was kind of cool.

To be honest I never was a die hard fan but Celtic Frost's To Mega Therion was deeply influential to many extreme metal bands in the mid 80's. The best songs here are The Usurper and the classic Circle of the Tyrants.

'To mega therion' is an album that spawned so many extreme sub-genres it should have been inducted into the hall of fame by now. On that, even though the band were constantly lumped with the thrash metal genre before 'Into the Pandemonium', Celtic frost here achieved a sense of success, simply by making themselves different from every other 80's 'Metal' band. A brilliant album, where even the instrumentals seem to be highlights.
