Yeah, the only metal band I know with Swedish lyrics are ...And Oceans. And that's more like experimental black.

you ever heard Thyrfing, Vintersorg, Shining, Panphage?

There's swedish singing in WITTR's latest album too. Either way point is that it isn't weird or awkward to hear one's native tongue in music imo.

"Thyrfing, Vintersorg, Shining, Panphage?"
I know OF them. I heard a bit of Vintersorg. Also this discussion is losing focus. Who is mad at who again?

I believe it enhances my enjoyment of certain albums when combined with certain languages I don't know. Bands like Alcest for example, the way French is articulated pairs really well with the ethereal music. Same with French and Norwegian Black Metal, I think both of those languages sound really good with Black Metal personally. I think the Swedish singing on the new WITTR is incredibly effective. It gives it an ancient quality and works really well.

Ok I think I see your point. I understand all those languages so it doesn't create much mystique or whatnot for me, but I get that with icelandic or latin for example.

Speaking of danish I believe that language has the most vowel sounds out of any language so makes for some great sing alongs. Mainly it's just unintelligible though as Egarran will have you confirm if you ever meet him at home turf..

I know a German trve kvlt dude who learned Norwegian through BM by always having a dictionary on him when he sat in his black painted room, with a candle in a skull as the only light.
It seems a bit ridiculous know, but I totally respected that in the nineties.
And yeah Danish is not a good language for metal. Even Myrkur sings in Norwegian. Then there's Solbrud, but I never got into them.

Lol the Kovenant were huge back in the day. They had Hellhammer on drums, Nagash from Dimmu on Bass, Sarah Jezebel Deva from COF on backups. They weren't exactly underground.
Dude Buttboy I saw you were getting into black metal, so you should give Nexus Polaris a spin if you like any of the symphonic stuff you've heard.
