zeros great, but nowhere near my favourite. I actually think there are some way underrated tracks that wouldv'e made great singles.

Love

Here Is No Why

Thru The eyes of ruby

Bodies

In fact Jellybelly was billys original choice for lead single, but the label wanted Bullet w/ butterfly wings

Jelly Belly is a good song as well, but I think songs like Zero, Tonight tonight, and 1979 are better. I definitely prefer Dawn to Dusk more than Twilight to Starlight.

Impulse bought this after it was being played in the CD shop and was on special, really loving it so far.

Great review.

This is my favorite album of the 90s, truly ambitious. Corgan didn't coast after the success of Siamese Dream, he went out to top it and somehow he did. From beautiful songs like Thirty-Three to screaming metal like An Ode to No One, this is one of the densest albums I have ever heard. Its exhausting.

the great songs on this album rank amongst the best pumpkins tunes ever..we only come out at night, XYU, zero, tonight tonight, jellybelly, galapogos, porcelana of the vast oceans...the filler is so obvious though. i suppose it will forever be a good album, just not as focused as their other stuff.

I didn't buy it until two years ago. Props to you but I agree about the filler dragging this down.

Does anyone agree that the first track is one of the most gorgeous things ever fucking written?

Not as good as the masterpiece Siamese Dream. But still a very, very good album. From here on SP is only getting worse and worse.

When I listen to this, I don't listen to the second 'cause it's got so much crap.

Shame, because I absolutely love 1979. Wish he had decided to put that on disc 1 instead.

so good but just too fucking long.

if they just removed the 10 or so filler shit tracks they could have still had a 90 minute concept album that would have been epic. but they didnt so now i have to sit down for 2 hours to hear 1979.

SO MANY MIXED FEELINGS!!!!!

Thru the Eyes of Ruby is the best imo. There are some HIGHLY underrated songs here, though, such as Galapagos.
