"TBH I was never a fan of those huge square prints that were on every single metal shirt in the 90's 00's"
Same ahrd. Basically the reason why I never buy or wear band merch

I don't mind the new Bullet Ride that much, honestly, even if Anders' "TURRRRNING TWISTING THE ALPHABET" did lose a bit of its bite. One of my favorite In Flames choruses.

The worst part of this for me is how he decided to sing the spoken word sections of bullet ride

I will say that their remaster of the title track has Anders sounding the best he's had in a long while. Unfortunately, he sapped the remaining strength from the rest of the band in order to do so.

I think if these songs were recorded and released for the first time today, I would think it was the best they've sounded in years but compared to the originals is a different story

This "re-release" is just a depressing reminder as to what this band has turned into.

why didnt the band release the remastered version of the songs they released instead of the re-recording, i think the rerecording put fans off the new version of the album. I'm only interested in the remasters

I was wondering about that myself. I think there's 2 main reasons:
1) It's easy money. Clayman is probably the most accessible "classic" album for their newer fans. So if you re-record this one and slap on a newer, slightly more radio friendly tone and production, it's an easy sell to your new audience. You'll also get the older fans checking it out and potentially even buying it.
2) This depends on how In Flames is structured as a business entity, but if old band members are still getting royalties for sales/streams of older material, there is an incentive for the current lineup to re-record it. That way, if this re-recorded version becomes the "definitive" version of Clayman to pick up, the current band lineup will get more payments/royalties instead of people no longer in the band.

I'll give In Flames credit for one thing tho, their new re-recordings made me come back to the original. haven't jammed this in full for at like 10 years, and I forgot just how good it is. always liked it better than Whoracle and Colony tbh

lol Keyblade, I did the same thing man. Binged Colony and Clayman while staining my deck the other day. Really had a great time with it.
