New song is batshit insane lol
I like it but that and Perfake Perfect have been a new level of weird for them, which is surprising coming off of #5 which I think most people view as too poppy and safe

I love the new song holy shit. All 4 songs after this album have been killer, but all their singles are killer so I hope that they can keep it up for a whole album because es or s and this didn't.

Weakest release up until now (but I rate still a solid 4/5 so...) mostly because has the weakest Side B BUT it also has the best ending song of all Ling's albums and the first half is pure magic.

shit damn i'm behind on all the new tracks, time to catch up
disagreed on side B - take out Die Meets Hard, and everything from Who's WhoFO is as solid a run as they've had since JAM. Chocolate Passion is the only real stinker here; I'd take it over Sigure Virgin or #4 every time

I love Ling but I genuinely only love 3 songs from here. Unlike all their other albums, many songs have little sense of tension or urgency, which does not sit well for me.

Tatsumaite Sennou is gold.

Not sure this alb is so much about urgency - Ten to Ten, High Energy Vacuum and Eneme are all tense rippers, but WhoFO and the t/t are peak pop Sigure and Serial Number is their best acoustic track since TremoloA
Chocolate/Die Hard/Tornado are all b-grade sigure rockers, but at least this thing flows better than Virgin (which also suffers from their worst prod and most erratic songwriting)

"Not sure this alb is so much about urgency"
Exactly, it isn't. That's one of the core components of why I like this band and this album doesn't focus on that much. So, as a result, I don't like it much. Even tracks which do, like Eneme/High Energy Vaccum, I'm not big fans of but I'd have to keep relistening to this to give any decent reasons for that. For TK exploring more 'pop' sounds, his solo project is much better suited to that I feel.
Virgin's prod is not perfect but I like it, it feels very claustophobic which suits the erratic songwriting.

Don't think they'll ever be back to the IID sound, hence the title #5, meaning a totally new chapter.

EneMe is woah 😮
perhaps not my fave LTS overall after a few spins, but it stands up well against a couple of their others (like Virgin and the debut 🤔)
