This album feels surprisingly mature considering how early it came out in the band’s career. A lot of excellent riffs/leads and just great song writing in general. This is definitely one of their best, if not best, albums.

On a random note, Rob Arnold has a YouTube channel now and based on a couple of his comments, it sounds like another Chimaira album is more a matter of when not if.

Haven't heard this band in years. Rob is easily the most skilled of all the members they had.

Rob is great for sure. I think Matt is underrated, I know he's behind some of my favorite riffs in their discography. And I know people give Mark shit as a vocalist but I honestly think he's got a really unique scream.

Yeah it wouldn't be Chimaira without Mark

Yea his channel is great. It’s actually what prompted me to go on a Chimaira bender the past week or so, I randomly saw a riffing tutorial from his channel.

I also just saw an article that said Covid caused their Christmas reunion show to get canceled AND they had apparently been talking about doing some song writing for a potential new album but the virus put everything on hold. :/

Oh yeah, Power Trip and Pure Hatred were absolute bangers! Always had a couple that slapped on every album, like Nothing Remains and Lazarus on the self titled too

I checked out some clips from the shows and they sounded fantastic. I hope they bring the anniversary show on the road. I miss these guys.

Album still rips. Resurrection comes close but I think this was the opus of the band imo. Most of the songs are so punchy and fun, minus lameass Crawl.

It's a tie between this and their self titled for me. The highs of the self titled (Nothing Remains / Inside the Horror / Everything You Love) are a bit higher for me, but this album as an overall package (especially with Implements of Destruction as the closer) is a more cohesive package.

How is this album a 3.7 average? Chimaira were ahead of their time and easily one of the best metalcore bands ever. Get this rating up.
