"Am I listening to a vocalist showreel? This (almost) might as well be a demo Einar recorded by himself."

Eh there is way too much musicianship on this record for that to even be remotely true

Obviously a hyperbole, but compared to their early work....

I got into Leprous within the last 6 months, and mostly loved The Congregation and select songs here and there, but I just listened all the way through this one again and it might be my favorite. It feels like a fresh take on what prog rock can be. Seems like most bands with the prog rock label are just rehashes of 70s prog, but this feels like what modern prog rock should be. Immaculate production, inventive guitars, THE DRUMS, all of it is so good, with Einar's unique vocals on top of it all.

Tasty, might be my favorite Leprous tbh.

I have fond memories of playing certain video games while listening to the singles off this

This has been a regular listen for a long time specially for that At the Bottom/Distant Bells combo, but I feel like I've been sleeping on the closer, easily one of my favourite Leprous tracks atm

"Distant Bells" is a perfect track.

Closer really fell off on me, probably cause I just heard it too much and the ending is a bit grating haha

Sky is Red grew on me a LOT, at first I didn't care about it tbh but now I'm absolutely addicted to it. Love how dramatic it gets

It was the first track I've heard from this album btw, I was checking a local music store, around the time when this album came out, and the guy in charge was blasting the entire thing. The drumming got my attention at first, the song was halfway through when I walked in

I've gone back and forth on The Sky is Red, it's great in a vacuum, but feels almost a little too different or disconnected from the rest of the album

I've actually done a few listens with Foreigner ending the album and somehow it works incredibly well musically and thematically.. However I cannot ignore how fucking sick the last 5 minutes of The Sky is Red are, I wouldn't have that ending any other way

I wish this band would do more things in the vibe of The Sky is Red. I love when they go all out and they rarely do these days.

Love the whole song but that ending is something else.

They played "The Sky is Red" during their MOA tour but they skipped the entire first part and just jumped to the chugs at the end. So although it was hype that it dropped, they really did the song as a whole dirty.
